My work has evolved considerably over the years. Although my background is rooted in professional commercial photography, my present-day workflow brings together photography, filmmaking, editing, education, YouTube production and travel content. The equipment I use must be versatile enough to move between very different creative environments without slowing me down.

I may be producing controlled visual content for a professional client one week, recording a detailed camera or software tutorial the next, and then travelling through Italy to create a cinematic destination film. Each project has a different pace, but the underlying requirement remains the same. I need dependable tools that allow me to concentrate on the image rather than continually fighting the equipment.

Anamorphic filmmaking has traditionally involved expensive, heavy and sometimes difficult equipment. Sirui has helped make the format more accessible to independent filmmakers, YouTube creators and smaller production teams by developing modern anamorphic lenses for widely used mirrorless camera systems.

The appeal of an anamorphic lens is not simply the wider frame. The format can alter the way an image feels through its horizontal field of view, flare characteristics, background rendering and overall sense of scale.

I am particularly interested in how modern autofocus anamorphic lenses can fit into a practical single-operator workflow.
