Why Sirui
A Lens Partnership Built Around Real-World Use
My work has evolved considerably over the years. Although my background
is rooted in professional commercial photography, my present-day
workflow brings together photography, filmmaking, editing, education,
YouTube production and travel content. The equipment I use must be
versatile enough to move between very different creative environments
without slowing me down.
I may be producing controlled visual content for a professional client
one week, recording a detailed camera or software tutorial the next, and
then travelling through Italy to create a cinematic destination film.
Each project has a different pace, but the underlying requirement
remains the same. I need dependable tools that allow me to concentrate
on the image rather than continually fighting the equipment.
This is what makes my partnership with Sirui particularly interesting.
Sirui has developed a broad collection of photography lenses, cine
lenses, autofocus lenses and anamorphic lenses aimed at modern
filmmakers and hybrid creators.
Rather than treating these lenses as products to be photographed and
briefly discussed, I intend to use them within complete working
productions. This allows me to evaluate how each lens handles on
location, how it balances with my cameras, how the autofocus behaves,
how the image responds during grading and whether the lens ultimately
makes the creative process easier or more rewarding.
The best lens is not simply the one with the most impressive
specification sheet. It is the lens that helps you create the image you
had in mind with the least unnecessary friction.
